BuildVantage has recently been granted permission to embark on an exciting new construction project in Plymouth, this prominent location was previously occupied by the renowned department store, Debenhams. 

On 14th June 2023, Plymouth Council approved Buildvantage’s plans to turn Debenhams into 167 apartments and commercial space. The ground level will be dedicated to a commercial area, providing opportunities for businesses to thrive and contribute to the local economy. Above the bustling ground floor, residential apartments will be thoughtfully designed to offer comfortable and contemporary living spaces for future residents.

The proposed development encompasses the transformation of the existing structure into a dynamic and modern living space. The plan entails the careful removal of specific sections of the building to create strategically placed openings, introducing a fresh architectural design. These openings will serve as an open courtyard on the first floor. These unique outdoor spaces will be open to the sky, allowing residents to enjoy fresh air, natural greenery, and a serene ambiance. The courtyards will be skillfully positioned to face the eastern side, ensuring optimal sunlight and a pleasant view for the residents.

The visionary design includes a rooftop facility that promises to be a standout feature of the building.
